Extension & Renovation
We were engaged to transform this iconic Hyde Park residence in collaboration with Mavtect Designs. The renovation focused on preserving the home’s heritage character while introducing a bold modern extension that enhances the way the home is lived in today. The Georgian Revival facade was carefully retained to maintain its timeless street presence, while the rear addition reimagines the home with generous light-filled spaces and a seamless connection to the outdoors. Inside, every detail—from the selection of finishes to the flow between old and new—was thoughtfully considered to achieve a refined and functional result. The outcome is a home that respects its historic charm while embracing modern living, crafted with the level of detail and care that defines our boutique approach.

We couldn’t be happier with our renovation result. Our unique build came with plenty of quirks, tricky angles and hidden challenges, but Taylored Construction handled them with skill and creativity. Thomas especially paid the attention to detail that we required and steered the design and final touches in a way that eventuated in the result looking better than the plan. Colleen complemented the process with intelligent colour, joinery, stone, and lighting selections. This certainly simplified much of our harder choices. All the way through we appreciated the transparency in everything from scheduling challenges to costings. We always felt informed, of both the good, and the not so good.
As a husband-and-wife team who live locally, they clearly take pride in their work, their reputation, and in building projects that others might consider too challenging. We feel very lucky to have worked with them and highly recommend them to anyone considering a renovation.
